Hebrews 5:14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
The Christian growth is a process. Spiritual milk is good and has its place in the walk of faith ( The elementary teachings – The simplest and easiest truths ). After this comes the solid food. This is the difficult and deep teaching. This may include the high and sublime doctrines of Christianity like the atonement, the gift of the Holy Spirit, triumph in and over death, the glorification of both the body and soul in the realm of blessedness and an endless union with Christ in the throne of his glory ( Adams Clarke’s commentary).
These is the strong food which Christians should receive, digest and grow.
A blog posted by John Campbell ( 16-1-2019) asserts that ” Christianity in Africa is a mile wide and an inch deep”. There is an urgent need to intentionally help the believers migrate from simple , basic and comforting truths of the gospel to solid food to enable them accelerate their growth in faith. Because of lack of solid food, many have remained at the milk level for decades . We have to continually dine from the Lord’s table ” till we all come to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ ” (Eph 4:13).
