1Pe 4:7-10 But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
Ethics is based on well – founded standard of right and wrong that prescribe what human ought to do usually in terms of rights, obligations, benefits to society, fairness, or specific virtues ( Markkula Center for applied Ethics). Apostle Peter encouraged believers to observe certain ethics as they continued living in the light of the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Peter commanded the believers to be serious and watchful in prayers, to have fervent love for one another, to be hospitable to one another without grumbling and to be good stewards of the manifold grace of God. Believer’s were to maintain their unity for the glory of God.
Christian friends, the night is far spent and the day is at hand. Our salvation is nearer than when we first believed ( Rom 13:11,12). We must live our lives as if Jesus will come tomorrow. It’s time for every believer to pray deeply and fervently, love each other , be willing to share whatever God has blessed us with other believers and be good stewards of the manifold grace of God. *Mat 24:46 Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing.
