2 Kings 7:3 Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate; and they said to one another, “Why are we sitting here until we die? 2 Ki7:4 If we say, ‘We will enter the city,’ the famine is in the city, and we shall die there. And if we sit here, we die also. Now therefore, come, let us surrender to the army of the Syrians. If they keep us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall only die.”
*Being intentional means making deliberate choices that reflect your values, beliefs and goals. It is about being more present, mindful, focused and taking an active role in your day – to – day decisions. It means purposefully pursuing the life that God has called you to live. God intentionally created the world and desires that we be intentional in our lives*.
The four leprous men had to be intentional in their decision making. If they just sat there and do nothing, they were certainly going to die. If they entered the city ( Samaria), things were no better there..they were still going to die. *The only logical thing to do was to go to the Syrian camp and surrender because they would either be given food and live or they would be killed*. And that’s what they did! *2Ki 7:5″ And they rose at twilight to go to the camp of the Syrians; and when they had come to the outskirts of the Syrian camp, to their surprise no one was there”.*
*Being intentional means making the right decisions, thinking ahead to avoid acting on impulse and putting our most important tasks first. Being intentional should pervade everything you do from the ministry, family time, work and even social engagements. It will help you to achieve your set goals, increase your focus and bring more purpose and meaning to your life*.
