Jer 32:17 “Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.” Jeremiah 32:17 (NIV)
We often face challenges in life that seem overwhelming; obstacles that appear impossible to overcome. Sometimes, we make the mistake of letting these problems overshadow our faith in God. We tell God about our “big problems,” forgetting that we serve a God who is bigger than any problem. As the saying goes, “Do not tell God you have a big problem; tell your problem you have a big God.”
Jeremiah recognizes the Sovereign Lord who made the heavens and the earth is the same God who spoke the universe into existence and who holds all things together by his power and is not limited by time, resources or obstacles. Our God has infinite resources, wisdom, and power to meet us wherever we are. If a road is impassable, He can bring us through it or take us over it. Just as David declared, *“The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine”, we can confront our “giants” knowing that God is on our side.
Whatever “mountains” or “giants” you are facing, remember that you serve a God who is bigger than any obstacle. Don’t tell God how big your problems are; tell your problems about your big God. And let His greatness, His wisdom, and His hand guide you in every situation. When you face a challenge, start by remembering who God is. Rather than focusing on how big the problem looks, remind yourself of God’s power and sovereignty. He is working everything together for your good.
