2Co 3:1-2 Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, as some do, letters of recommendation to you, or from you? You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on our hearts, to be known and read by all.
To prove is to demonstrate that something is true or viable; while improve is to make something better, to increase the value or productivity of something There were some “false apostles” floating around Achaia assassinating Paul’s character. Paul’s opponents were calling into question the genuineness of his Apostleship by drawing attention to his suffering, poverty and otherwise sorry state of his being. He defeated the ploy by avoiding such cheap arguments and clearly portraying that the Corinth church was in itself a real proof that he was an Apostle
Dragging ourselves into cheap debates of proving our abilities, position, status ,levels of achievement and influence is an action in futility. You can’t force people to change their views about you but you can influence them by improvement of what you already know and able to do.This becomes bare evidence to all.
May we continue ” majoring on the majors” and reduce the energy spent on proving and explaining what we have achieved. May we be living testimonies to the transformative work of God! May we always remember that we are being “known and read” by all without offering any proof of epistleship
