Daniel 3:29 Therefore I make a decree that any people, nation, or language which speaks anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made an ash heap; because there is no other God who can deliver like this.”
To overrule is to make a decision that opposes and changes on other decision or suggestion from a position of higher authority. It is to use a greater authority to change a decision that has already been made ( Cambridge Dictionary).
After setting up the golden image, Nebuchadnezzar sent word and gathered all his dignitaries and people to attend the dedication of the image. When the trumpet was blown, all peoples and nations and languages were supposed to bow down and worship the golden image. Daniel 3:6 and whoever does not fall down and worship shall be cast immediately into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.”
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego did not obey that rule. Eventually they were cast in the midst of the furnace of blazing fire that had been heated seven times hotter! Alas! Nebuchadnezzar saw them walking in the fire and he called them out. He now proceeded to give a new decree: That all peoples, nation or language must worship the God of Shadrach Meshach and Abednego because there is no other God who can deliver like this.
You should not get worried when men sit down to come up with rules and regulations with the aim of frustrating, intimidating and bringing you down. There is no decree on earth that heaven cannot overrule. Any scheme hatched against the saints will always backfire in Jesus name. Our God is supreme and He rules all the affairs of men. The enemy is not in control of your life and he cannot stop your purpose. When God says ” overruled ” every evil plan against you is brought down!
