Luke 14:31
βOr what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?β
Life demands wise decisions. Jesus taught us to count the cost before engaging in any battle (Luke 14:28β31). Many fail because they enter fights they cannot win. Goliath looked unbeatable, but David faced him in Godβs strength, not his own (1 Sam. 17:45). Any game without God is a trap; human effort alone cannot guarantee victory (Jer. 17:5).
Pharaoh opposed God and lost everything (Exod. 14:27β28). Herod tried to silence Godβs glory and was struck down (Acts 12:23). Some battles belong to the Lord, not us (2 Chron. 20:15). The enemy lures people into games of pride and sin. Before you fight, ask: Is this my battle, or am I walking into defeat?
Beloved, wisdom knows which fights to take. Avoid wars driven by ego, lust, or rebellionβthey end in shame. Sign up for the fight of faith (1 Tim. 6:12), for God guarantees that victory. If God is not leading you, step back. Never sign up for a game you cannot win.
