Prov 27:23 (NKJV) – “Be diligent to know the state of your flocks, and attend to your herds.”
Solomon reminds us that blessings require attention and care. God may supply the blessing, but we preserve and grow it through diligence. Nothing flourishes by accident—marriages, ministries, finances, and opportunities thrive when we steward them with wisdom. Blessings unmanaged can fade, but blessings overseen with responsibility increase.
Scripture illustrates this truth clearly. Joseph was blessed with divine favor, yet his wise administration saved nations (Gen 41:39–41). Solomon received great wisdom, but he was required to steward his life and kingdom faithfully (1 Kings 3:12–14). The early church grew rapidly, but they managed that blessing by appointing Spirit-filled leaders to guide the work (Acts 6:3–4). Their increase was tied to stewardship, not chance.
God entrusts us with gifts—resources, influence, and callings—and expects faithfulness. Jesus taught that those who manage the little well are given more (Matt 25:21). Blessings multiply where responsibility is honored. Therefore, guard what God has given, cultivate it with purpose, and use it for His glory.
