Pro 3:11-12 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction: For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
Today’s text invites us to lean close enough to hear love beneath correction. It does not shout; it reassures—do not despise, do not faint. When the Lord corrects, He is drawing us nearer, shaping our hearts with care. His discipline is heaven stooping to guide earthbound lives.
In seasons of rebuke, the soul aches before it understands. Yet weariness eases when we remember who is holding us. God corrects not to shame us, but to save us—from pride, wandering, and hidden dangers. Correction becomes communion when the heart trusts His love.
To receive discipline is to surrender without bitterness. It is saying, “Lord, shape me even when I don’t understand.” Then rebuke turns to reassurance, and correction becomes comfort. His discipline proves grace is still at work, leading us into life and peace.
