Luke 10:41\u202d-\u202c42 \u201cMartha, Martha,\u201d the Lord answered, \u201cyou are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed\u2014or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.\u201d<\/p>\n
Martha was an expert in hospitality industry. The reception accorded to Jesus and his disciple was overwhelming and she had to request for help. It appears that,as soon as Jesus arrived in Martha’s home, he engaged in preaching the gospel even before entertainment .It was at this point that Mary sat at his feet and let go all that was worrying and upsetting Martha. She chose that which mattered most. <\/p>\n
Welcoming Jesus into our lives matters , but there is one more thing that matters most which cannot be taken away from those who practice it ; sitting at the Lord’s feet listening to him.<\/p>\n
The world is full of anxieties ,upsets and distractions that often derail us from the course .All these makes us forget that we have a guest whose main objective is to speak to us rather than be served with the meal of the day.
\nWhen Jesus becomes our guest , there is only one thing that matters most; sitting at his feet to listen.<\/p>\n
