Isaiah 64:8-9
\nYet you, Lord , are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand. Do not be angry beyond measure, Lord ; do not remember our sins forever. Oh, look on us, we pray, for we are all your people.<\/p>\n
Prayer <\/p>\n
“O Lord, you are our Father having both created and adopted us; therefore pity us thy children; we are the clay, and you our potter . We are in thy hands as clay in the hands of the potter. And we will not quarrel with you, however thou art pleased to deal with us. We are all the work of thy hands.”<\/p>\n
“Therefore forget us not, forsake us not, but spare,preserve, and save us. Be not wroth with us very sore \u2014 But let thy anger be mitigated by the clemency and compassion of a father. Neither remember iniquity for ever \u2014 Thou hast been angry with us a long time, be not so for ever -(Benson commentary )<\/p>\n
Psa 95:7 Behold we are your people,your peculiar people. We are the people of your pasture, the flock under your care.
\n Psa 25:7 Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; According to Your mercy remember me, For Your goodness’ sake, O LORD.
