The term shield refers to a large 4’\u00d72′ full body protective cover. It was made of wood with leather coverings surrounded by metal. It was soaked in water before the battle so as to extinguish the fire-tipped arrows.<\/p>\n
The term ” above all” means in addition to the above mentioned military battle armor, we should take the shield of faith which will be able to extinguish all flaming arrows of the evil one.<\/p>\n
Brethren, it is our faith in God that has kept us going. It is faith that has protected us from all those fiery arrows the devil has kept on aiming at us. By faith, the arrows will be extinguished! We are shielded by faith.<\/p>\n
