2Ti 1:6 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.<\/p>\n
Every believer has a function to perform and a duty to fulfill in the body of Christ. God has graciously granted every person a spiritual gift in order to edify and build each other. Unfortunately, many gifts remain unidentified and therefore unused .<\/p>\n
Paul exhorted Timothy to fan into flame the gift of God that was resident in him. He knew that if that gift remained inactive, his ministry would also be ineffective. A call to stir up did not mean that Timothy had let the ” fire to go cold ” but it was a call to avoid sluggishness and remain vibrant.<\/p>\n
Every believer has been given the necessary spiritual and natural gifts to do the works of God. We have an obligation of keeping them alive ; keeping the flame burning. For a vibrant church, fellowship and ministry, each one of us must develop and use the gifts God has given us. ” For this reason, I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God in you.” <\/p>\n
