{"id":3640,"date":"2022-04-25T04:48:03","date_gmt":"2022-04-25T04:48:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pastoralcarecenter.org\/newsletter\/wordpress\/?p=3640"},"modified":"2022-04-25T04:48:20","modified_gmt":"2022-04-25T04:48:20","slug":"let-him-be-your-god","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastoralcarecenter.org\/newsletter\/wordpress\/2022\/04\/25\/let-him-be-your-god\/","title":{"rendered":"LET HIM BE YOUR GOD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gen 28:20,21 Then Jacob made a vow,  saying, \u201cIf God will be with me and will watch over me  on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear  so that I return safely  to my father\u2019s house, then the LORD  will be my God .<\/p>\n<p>This was at Bethel where Jacob had an encounter with the Lord in a dream  on his way to Laban as he fled from Esau. He asked God to be with him, watch over him, and provide for his needs so that he would return safely. In essence, Jacob was making a personal commitment to Yahweh as his God.<\/p>\n<p>And for sure, God heard his prayers and granted him success. From that time on, God would introduce Himself to Jacob as the God of his Fathers Abraham and Isaac. To the Israelites, He would introduce Himself  as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.<\/p>\n<p>And because the Lord is our God , he will not only answer our prayers, but He will always go before us, exalt  every valley, bring low every mountain and make smooth the rough places ( Isa 40:4).
