\nwho killed about thirty-six of them. They chased the Israelites from the city gate as far as the stone quarries and struck them down on the slopes.<\/p>\n
When Joshua took over from Moses, he led the Israelites to battle and were on winning streak against the city of Jericho, the Armorites and the Ammonites until they came against a small city known as Ai which had few dwellers .To their dismay ,their winning pattern was put to a halt by the small army .<\/p>\n
Winning and losing are a part of life and are caused by myriad reasons. They are two sides of the same coin . Winning and losing come in cycles; neither is permanent. Today\u2019s victor is tomorrow\u2019s or yesterday\u2019s loser. And today\u2019s loser might well be the champion next season. While we are fully aware of this, we continue to crave for victory and live in dread of losing, although we know in our hearts that one is invariably followed, with the passage of time, by the other.(P V VAIDYANATHAN, 2012-

The feeling of happiness and joy that any victory brings is basically felt and enjoyed by our ego . The human mind and ego exult when it can do something better than the other person or other team. Just as victory brings extreme emotions, so does defeat. How often have we seen today\u2019s heroes become tomorrow\u2019s none – heroes or villains ? Today\u2019s idols are smashed tomorrow, when they fail to perform. such is the price of victory. What about the loser? We owe a great deal to the loser, for without a loser, there cannot be a winner.<\/p>\n
