1Ki 20:22 Afterward, the prophet came to the king of Israel and said, \u201cStrengthen your position and see what must be done, because next spring the king of Aram will attack you again. \u201d<\/p>\n
Now Ben-Hadad king of Aram mustered his entire army. Accompanied by thirty-two kings with their horses and chariots, he went up and besieged Samaria and attacked it. Meanwhile a prophet came to Ahab king of Israel and pronounced victory . True to his words,the king of Israel advanced and overpowered the horses and chariots and inflicted heavy losses on the Arameans. After the victory ,the prophet did put the king of Israel on security alert,”next spring ,the king of Aram will attack again !” The next spring Ben-Hadad mustered his army and attacked them.<\/p>\n
Why do most people fall into the trap of losing a fight they previously won, temptations they earlier overcame or situation they had triumphed ? Winning a battle isn’t the end of fighting! its a wake up call to reinforce and muster all weak points . The enemy many a times just withdraws and retreat to reinforce his arsenals waiting for another opportune time.<\/p>\n
“When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time ” (Luk 4:13).
\nAfter winning a battle ,its time to Strengthen your position and see what must be done because next “spring” is coming!<\/p>\n
