When you were made a leader you weren’t given a crown, you were given the responsibility to bring out the best in others.” (John Eades )

Saul had been given clear instructions to utterly destroy all. However it seems the call to obedience was not a walk in the park. When confronted by prophet Samuel, he tried to justify his mess. The captain of the army allowed greed to creep in and held him hostage. He thrived in giving lame excuses taking the people as the scapegoat. He betrayed God who had called him to lead His people.

Saul’s conscience was seared to the point that when he was asked if he had executed the God given mandate, he was quick to report that he had. The bleating of the sheep and lowing of oxen betrayed him and his sins exposed him. His disobedience and pride blinded him. God regretted having made him a leader.

Today many leaders are blooming in excuses for their failure to lead and execute their mandate. Many organizations, ministries and nations are failing courtesy of leadership that is not accountable. We ought to take obligation and ensure that our leadership is beyond reproach. May we be leaders who are totally surrendered to God ensuring that we meet God’s expectation in our spheres of leadership.

Further readings:
Pro 16:10-20
Mt 20: 26-28
Luk 12:48

🙏 Blessed Day 🙏

1Sa 15:14 But Samuel said, “What then is this bleating of the sheep in my ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?” 1 Samuel 15:21 (KJV) But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD…

[1
