Gen 12:1-3 The lord had said to Abram, \u201cLeave your native country, your relatives, and your father\u2019s family, and go to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.\u201d<\/p>\n
God told Abram to move out in faith from Ur to Haran and finally to Canaan. God then established a covenant with him, telling him that he will be the founder of a great nation. Not only would this nation be blessed, God said: but the other nations of the earth would be blessed through Abram’s descendants. Israel, the nation that would come from Abram, was to follow God and influence those with whom it came into contact with.<\/p>\n
The above text is a powerful reminder of a transformative journey of faith that awaits each one of us. Here, we witness God’s call to Abram to leave everything familiar behind. To step into God’s purpose, it entails stepping out of the comfort zones and embracing the unknown.<\/p>\n
According to Gal. 3:29, we are a seed of Abraham. As his seed, we carry the same order of blessings and we must purposefully impact our generation. Abraham had a great name because he walked in God’s divine mandate for his life and had a lot of influence in his time. He obeyed, walking away from his home for God’s purpose to be fulfilled. God is also leading us to a place of greater service and usefulness for Him. We should not let the comfort and the security of our current position make us miss God’s plan for our lives.<\/p>\n
