Joh 15:14 “You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.
\nJoh 15:15 “No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.<\/p>\n
Here Jesus called his disciples his friends. The disciples were no longer servants. A servants main duty was to receive and implement instructions from his master. The master was not under any obligation to explain to the servant the reason for the order. But now there was a paradigm shift. Jesus had made known to them everything he himself learned from his father.<\/p>\n
Jesus has promoted us from being servants to friends . We have the privilege of having a Communion with our father. He keeps on revealing to us the secrets of the kingdom through the Holy Spirit. He keeps talking to us through his word. In the Old Testament, only Abraham and by implication Moses(Exo 33:11) are called friends of God. But Jesus has extended this privilege to all believers.<\/p>\n
What a friend we have in Jesus
\nAll our sins and griefs to bear !
\nWhat a privilege to carry
\nEverything to God in prayer
