Gen.4.8 – 10 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. 9 – And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?10- And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.<\/p>\n
The above texts recounts the tragic story of Cain and Abel. Cain became jealous of Abel because his sacrifice was rejected and his brother’s sacrifice was accepted. The anger and jealousy made him kill his brother Abel. When God questioned him about Abel’s whereabouts, he responds with one of the most memorable lines in the Bible: \u201cAm I my brothers keeper?\u201d<\/p>\n
Verse 10 refers to the aftermath of Cain killing his brother Abel. \u201c…What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.\u201d The consequences of Cains actions brings the idea that, bloodshed calls out to God for justice. That innocent blood is seeking for God\u2019s attention.<\/p>\n
If the blood of man can speak, we have the blood of Jesus which can speak better things than that of Abel. His blood speaks forgiveness, grace and reconciliation with God. The blood of Jesus brings about spiritual redemption and healing, contrasting with the cry for justice and vengeance associated with Abel\u2019s blood.<\/p>\n
