Amos 7:14,15 Then Amos answered and said to Amaziah, \u201cI was not a prophet, and not the son of a prophet, but I was a shepherd, and a gatherer of sycamore figs. And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said to me, \u2018Go, prophesy to my people Israel.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n
After receiving caution from Amaziah the priest for prophesying against him ,against the king and against Bethel, the candid Amos gave a brief background of where God got him and elevated him to be who he was. “A shepherd and an gatherer of sycamore figs he was, but God saw him beyond the apron and agricultural related attires”<\/p>\n
All those God encompass to work around him cannot be associated with a single occupation lest some may be disadvantaged From shepherds, kings, tax collectors, fishermen, doctors, lawyers, zealots etc. They also came from different races and groups ; the Jews and the gentiles. This was done to boost encouragement to the entire world that greatness is right where you are.<\/p>\n
No one is more privileged to brag or less placed to be demeaned. Opportunities are everywhere ! They are in the sink dishes, they are in the trash container, they are in the hallway , they are in the classroom, they are in your siblings chores, in the office,in the plains,in the hills,in the waters and in the land . Opportunities for greatness are everywhere ! (logos Bible.) As you tender your ‘sycamore’ be assured elevation is on the way .<\/p>\n
