When he came to the hill, he took them from their hand, and stored them away in the house; then he let the men go, and they departed.”

After Naaman’s healing, Gehazi could not understand why Elisha rejected what looked like a golden opportunity for wealth. Out of greed, he chased after Naaman and seized what seemed like a once-in-a-lifetime chance. But what appeared good was not godly—it was deception, and it ended in judgment- 2 Ki 5:27″ Therefore the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you and your descendants forever.” And he went out from his presence leprous, as white as snow”. Not every opportunity that shines comes from God.

As believers, we must learn to distinguish between good and godly. Some doors may look beneficial—promising wealth, recognition, or success—but if they compromise faith, they are dangerous. A dishonest promotion, a corrupt business venture, or a relationship that weakens your walk with Christ may seem rewarding, but they carry hidden destruction. Godly opportunities align with His Word and produce lasting fruit.

Before embracing any opportunity, take time to pray and seek God’s wisdom. James 1:5 assures us that God gives wisdom to those who ask. Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us to trust Him rather than lean on our own understanding. If it is truly from God, it will align with His will, strengthen righteousness, and bring peace—not regret.

Further readings:
Prov 3:5–6
James 1:5
1 John 4:1

🙏 Blessed Day 🙏

2 Kings 5:20, 23–24 (NKJV) — “But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, ‘Look, my master has spared Naaman this Syrian, while not receiving from his hands what he brought; but as the Lord lives, I will run after him and take something from him.’ … So Naaman said, ‘Please, take…

[1
