Psa 91:4 (NKJV) \u2013 \u201cHe shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.\u201d<\/p>\n
There is a sacred refuge for those who trust in God\u2014a place found beneath the shadow of His wings. Throughout Scripture, the \u201cwings\u201d of God symbolize His tender care and divine protection. When Israel was delivered from Egypt, the Lord said, \u201cI bore you on eagles\u2019 wings and brought you to Myself\u201d (Exod. 19:4). The wings are not just for escape, but for nearness. To dwell under His wings is to live aware that God\u2019s presence surrounds and sustains the believer through every storm.<\/p>\n
David understood this truth deeply. Hiding from Saul in the wilderness, he prayed, \u201cKeep me as the apple of Your eye; hide me under the shadow of Your wings\u201d (Ps. 17:8). The cave may have been dark, but divine wings cast a greater shadow\u2014a shadow of peace amid pursuit. God\u2019s wings do not always remove the storm; they redefine it. The one who abides there learns that true protection is not freedom from danger, but fellowship with God in the midst of it.<\/p>\n
Jesus echoed this when He wept over Jerusalem, saying, \u201cHow often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!\u201d (Matt. 23:37). The heart of God has always been to bring His children close\u2014to cover the exposed and comfort the weary. To come under His wings is to rest where mercy meets majesty, where weakness is covered by divine strength. The safest place is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of God.<\/p>\n
