When electricity shines, no one notices the candle. But when the power goes out, that small flame becomes a lifeline. So it is with faith\u2014ignored in times of ease, but treasured in the darkness of trials. Darkness does not diminish the light; it reveals it. \u201cIt is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.\u201d \u2013 Eleanor Roosevelt.<\/p>\n
Our small flame of prayer, kindness, concern, counsel, encouragement,or support may seem weak, but in someone\u2019s night of despair, it becomes a beacon of hope. Jesus said, \u201cYou are the light of the world\u201d (Mat 5:14). That light is not for display but for service\u2014guiding others when the way is unclear.<\/p>\n
The candle sacrifices itself to shine, and so must we. Christ gave Himself to bring light to our darkness. Likewise, let us not hide our flame but let it burn brightly. For the world will only see Christ when His people dare to shine in the night.<\/p>\n
