When society saw her as insignificant, heaven saw her as valuable. God found her by a spring in the desert and called her by name. Her declaration, “You are the God who sees me,” assures us that nothing about our lives—our silent battles, hidden tears, or secret fears—escapes His attention. Just as the Lord saw Israel’s affliction (Ex. 3:7), He sees yours too.

When God saw Hagar, He did not condemn her—He comforted her. He restored her dignity, renewed her direction, and spoke destiny into her son’s future. God’s seeing is always redemptive; He looks beyond pain and into purpose. His encounter with Hagar reveals a God who does not merely observe suffering but intervenes to lift, guide, and restore. Like David acknowledged, there is no place we can run where God’s presence cannot reach us (Ps. 139:7). The God who sees is also the God who rescues.

Hagar walked back to her situation not as a victim but as a woman transformed by revelation. When we see the God who sees us, our desert becomes a place of destiny. His watchful presence gives us courage to face tomorrow, strength to endure today, and confidence that His plans will prevail. The God who saw Hagar still sees you—your needs, your prayers, your hopes. Once you encounter El-Roi, you can journey forward knowing that you are never unseen, never forgotten, and never abandoned.

Further readings
Ex. 3:7
Ps. 139:7
Gen. 16:13

🙏Blessed Day🙏
www.pastoralcarecenter.org

SEEN BY GOD, SUSTAINED BY GRACE Gen.16.13 – And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?
