1Sa 16:13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah.
God has always honoured and elevated the most disregarded people . David, the youngest of the sons of Jesse, was appointed by God to replace Saul as the king of Israel ( 1Sa 16:1). From the look of things, he was the most disregarded among his brothers. They did not think he would amount to anything. Both his father and brothers had already “written him off.”
Great men and women ,most certainly, are not made in the palace but in the ” wilderness “. It is possible that Samuel did not reveal to his brothers the mission to which God was calling David. The Spirit of the Lord came upon David empowering him for the great assignment that was ahead of him.
It’s possible to feel as if the heavenly doors have been slammed against you. Men and women may have written you off. But behind the scenes, God has appointed and anointed you and He is busy drilling, testing and preparing you for your next assignment.
It took quite a while before David became the king of Judah. It also took another seven years and six months before he became king over all Israel.
You have already been set a part to accomplish specific purposes. Like David , you have already been appointed and anointed. God is busy ” pulling the strings behind the scene.” At the set time, your real status will be revealed.
