REBUKE WITH A HIGHER AUTHORITY.

Jude 1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”

This relates to the death and burial of Moses at Mt Nebo ( Deu 34:5,6). There was a major dispute between Michael, the archangel, and Satan over the body. He had been sent by Yahweh to retrieve the physical remains of Moses. Michael, left the matter in God’s hand. He said to the devil, ” the Lord rebuke you” and that settled the matter.

The term ” Lord” as used above refers to Yahweh, but in other parts of the book Jude it refers to Jesus Christ. We should not struggle so much on our own fighting with the devil. Yahweh has given us a name that is better than those of sons and daughters ( Isa 56:5)

Phi 2:9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,Phi 2:10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,

Christian friends, there is power in the name of Jesus! No power, no principality, no authority, no demon can resist, contest or challenge the name of Jesus. Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord !
