Gen 50:20 “But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
After the death of Jacob, Joseph’s older brothers feared for their lives. They were so afraid of him that they did not dare to come to him personally. They sent messengers entreating him to forgive them for the evil they had committed against him.
Joseph admitted that his brothers meant evil against him, but with great spiritual insight, he also confessed that God meant it for good; to bring about survival of many people. God had transformed the soot of human sin into a diamond of divine blessings. ( Holman Study Bible NKJV Edition)
Far from being embittered, Joseph was emboldened to take care of the very ones who had tried to kill him, along with their little ones.
Christian friends, what was, is or will be meant for your harm will work out for your good. Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
