2Ch 32:15 ‘Now therefore, do not let Hezekiah deceive you or persuade you like this, and do not believe him; for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people from my hand or the hand of my fathers. How much less will your God deliver you from my hand?’ ”
2Ch 32:21 Then the LORD sent an angel who cut down every mighty man of valor, leader, and captain in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned shamefaced to his own land. And when he had gone into the temple of his god, some of his own offspring struck him down with the sword there.
King Sennacherib of Syria invaded and besieged Judah. He presented both Hezekiah the King of Judah and Jehovah God in a very negative manner. He even boasted of his triumphs over the gods of other nations and how none of them could save their people
He hoped to intimidate them and take the city by weakening the hands of those who should defend it. Hezekiah and prophet Isaiah joined in prayer ( 2Chr 32:20). The armies of the Assyrians was cut off by the sword of an angel. They slaughtered the mighty men of valour , the leaders and the captains.
The king of the Assyrians, having received this disgrace was cut off by the sword of his own sons. God was glorified as the protector of his people.
Do not let any negativity weaken your hands. Satan, in his temptations and intimidations aims at destroying our faith in God. Jehovah is the defender of his people.
