“And Gideon said unto them, I will not rule over you, neither shall my son rule over you: the LORD shall rule over you.”
— Judges 8:23 (KJV)
These are tough words said by Gideon considering his achievements. After being successful in battle, people wanted to make him rule for life over them.
He however declined the offer and steered them on the right track. It was not his achievements but the Lord’s. All credit belonged to God. He attributed all that he had and all that he had accomplished to God.
Have you ever taken credit when things turned out right? True credit worthiness is when men see God in all our tasks and achievements. We must learn to acknowledge the doings of the Lord in our lives. All glory, honour and praise belongs to our God!
Psa 115:1 Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, But to Your name give glory, Because of Your mercy, And because of Your truth.
