Isa 43:1 But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.
Isa 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.
Prophet Isaiah was encouraging the nation of Israel while in captivity in Babylon . Taking them to captivity was the rod of correction that the Lord chastised them with since he loved them greatly. While in captivity, the Lord God reminded them of their special position in Him hence they needed not to fear.
Today, life has a way of presenting itself in many forms. We pass through torrents of storms and we are tempted to think that the Lord has forgotten and abandoned us to perish by the fires. We feel like we are in it all alone, with no help forthcoming.
Saints, we have been redeemed with the precious blood of Jesus and are called by the name of the Lord. Now if we belong to him, then He will not allow the rivers to overflow us, neither the fire to burn us nor the flame to scorch us.
We need not fear the challenges because we will come out victoriously.
