Ruth 1:14 Then they lifted up their voices and wept again; and Orpah kissed her mother-in-law, but Ruth clung to her.
Misfortune had befallen on Naomi and it seemed she had lost it all. It was only prudent of her to release her daughters-in-law for perhaps they would restart their lives and move on. Both daughters were faced with the same situation but their reactions were different.
Ruth purposed to cling to Naomi despite the prevailing conditions while Orpah kissed her goodbye. Ruth made a daring decision to walk with Naomi despite the cultural obstacles. It must have been a great revelation that guided Ruth in making her decision as it later brought her to the lineage of Christ.
In every decision we make, may we moved by revelation and not our emotions. The decision we make will either make us or break us. Ruth clung to Naomi who led her to the God of Israel. This brought a turnaround in her life. Though a Moabite , she moved against all odds and grafted herself to the Great family of Christ.
Don’t be in a haste to make your decision but weigh it carefully praying for the wisdom of God to prevail. His revelation will illuminate your decision path which will yield great results. Move with God but not on your own.
