Mar 2:22 “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins.”
When wine is new, it is still undergoing fermentation where it releases gases. It needs to be put in a container that can allow expansion. If expansion is not given room, it would end up disastrous as the wine spills. An old wineskin has already become rigid and formed a certain shape thus not flexible for expansion. Putting new wine in such would only blow it up.
We have come into a new season of doing things differently. Perhaps we ought to restructure our organizations to remain relevant. We should not be trapped in the old system of doing things. Even in our ministries, working places, businesses and homes we have to embrace the new systems of doing things to remain relevant. We have to reinvent less we become redundant.
In every sector there is a shifting and we have to learn on how to navigate the change for a smooth ride. What are the new skills needed to surf the current tides? Are we sharpening our skills to suite the prevailing conditions? If we are stuck to the old ways of doing things while change is beckoning, we shall spill the good content we have. The new is making the old obsolete.
