Phi 3:13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
Apostle Paul was committed to forget not only all the hardships that he had encountered but also all his accomplishments. What was behind Paul was his Jewish privileges and instincts, his past sins, blessings and achievements.
He was setting all these aside for the soul purpose of obtaining new life; resurrection of the saints. Whatever gains he had attained, he counted them all loss for the sake of Christ. He made a decision to suffer the loss of these things in order to attain what was more precious to him.
Our shortfalls, failures and successes should not stop us from attaining our ultimate goals. God is doing a new thing. We should press on toward the goal, which is the prize of God’s upward call in Christ Jesus. We should not settle for less because the best is yet to come.
