Esther 7:3
Then Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found favour in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request:
Haman plotted to exterminate the Jews. Mordecai forwarded this scheme to queen Esther calling upon her to intercede on behalf of the Jews. Esther gained favor from God and approached king Xerxes who overturned the plan.
“If the love of life causes earnest pleadings with those that can only kill the body, how fervent should our prayers be to Him, who is able to destroy both body and soul in hell! How should we pray for the salvation of our relatives, friends, and all around us!” (Mathew Henry commentary)
When we approach influential men, we are careful not to forget any of our pleas. How much more should we approach the King of kings with reverence? He is not only able to grant our requests, but far much exceedingly, abundantly more than we ask or imagine.
May we rise like Esther and intercede for the sake of families, church, country and other areas of our jurisdiction where Haman’s attacks are thriving.God is waiting for our call in prayer and intercession.
