Joh 21:17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.
Much has been said about Peter’s three fold denial of Jesus during the night of trial. It is true and very true that Peter, the chief disciple denied his master three times but Christ forgave and restored him. Failure is an event, not a destiny .
After the breakfast by the sea, Jesus asked Peter three times if he loved him. Peter needed to see the magnitude of his sin and grasp Christ’s forgiveness. Without pain, he would not get better. When the Lord asked him the same question for the third time, Peter’s heart was grieved but Christ firmly restored him…feed my sheep.
Failure doesn’t mean you have blown up everything, it means you have some lessons to learn. It doesn’t mean you are a permanent loser, it means you missed something somewhere. It doesn’t mean you should give up. It means you need the Lord to show you the next step. It doesn’t mean the Lord has abandoned you. It means that God has a better plan ( Keep believing ministries)
