Psa 130:5 I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope.
Psa 130:6 My soul waits for the Lord More than those who watch for the morning — I say, more than those who watch for the morning.
Working the night shift is wearisome. Its usually long, dark, dreary, gloomy lonely, cheerless and at times chilly. The guards are always the hardest hit for many are devoid of shelter ,security, warmth and companion. It’s at this point that they anxiously long for the break of the day and first ray of light so that they can be relieved .
In his despair and out of depth, the Psalmist poured out a song of ascent to the most High. In his cry ,he patiently and desperately waited for Him more that the guards long for the morning.
The earnest upward gaze of the soul should be the desire of everyone – The suffering waiting for relieve, agitated souls waiting for calm, broken spirit waiting for mending, the aching waiting for balm and a contrite sinner for forgiveness. Such an inward wait need be the desire of everyone. *Psa 27:14 Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!
