Jos 4:21 Then he spoke to the children of Israel, saying: “When your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, ‘What are these stones?’ Jos 4:22 “then you shall let your children know, saying, ‘Israel crossed over this Jordan on dry land’;
The twelve men were chosen from every tribe for the purpose of taking large stones out of the bed of river Jordan, where the feet of the priests were standing, and carrying the stones to Gilgal. The stone would become a memorial to the mighty work the Lord had done.
They were meant to remind the coming generations of God’s promises and mighty acts of deliverance.
To some of us, the year has been tough and demanding. We may not build stone altars today, but we still need reminders of God’s love and mercy . God has done great things in our lives. We are celebrating those hard – earned milestones. Psa 124:2 “If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, When men rose up against us, Psa 124:3 Then they would have swallowed us alive, When their wrath was kindled against us;
