1Pe 1:8 whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 1Pe 1:9 receiving the end of your faith–the salvation of your souls.
This Epistle was addressed to ” strangers scattered abroad”. In view of the above, it is evident that in their life time, they had not gotten an opportunity to meet Jesus Christ in person.
That not withstanding, they had believed in him and placed their confidence in him. They loved him in his absence just the same they would have loved him if he was personally present with them. They experienced a joyful fellowship with him through the Holy Spirit. By faith, they were going to receive the salvation of their souls – eternal life.
And this makes our faith in Him even stronger. Even though we have not met him in person, He resides in our hearts. He has done more for us than any other person who ever lived among men. He is always interceding for us in heaven and we will spend eternity with him.
