1Co 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become as sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
Whatever love there is in man, whether towards God or fellow man, has it’s source in God. Love in the heart of man is the offspring of the love of God. Only the regenerated heart can truly love as God loves. This is the love that can help us see other human beings as God sees them and value them as God values them.
Though we may manifest all desirable attributes of a strong believer – speaking in tongues, prophecy, miracle working power, charity etc without love, all becomes unbearable like misused musical instruments. Without God, there is no love and without love , life has no meaning.
1Co 13:4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
1Co 13:5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 1Co 13:6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 1Co 13:7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
