The Acts 2:42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. The Acts 2:43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
This section gives a description of the early church. They devoted themselves to four main areas . First, they devoted themselves to the apostolic teaching. The Apostles were the the custodians of who Christ was and what he had accomplished.
Secondly , they devoted themselves to fellowship. They met together at the temple and in their homes. The third thing they devoted themselves to was the breaking of bread ( The Lord’s supper) and lastly, they devoted themselves to prayers. Those first believers did everything together and many miracles and wonders were performed in their midst.
Every gathering of the saints is a problem to the devil. When we meet together, great things happen; signs and miracles happen, saints are encouraged, the yokes are broken, burdens are lifted, sinners are born again and we experience a ” a small heaven down here”. When the saints meet ,there is a major loss in the devil’s kingdom and a major gain in the kingdom of God.
Heb 10:25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
