Psa 115:1 Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, But to Your name give glory, Because of Your mercy, And because of Your truth.
Psa 115:3 But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases.
Self praise and self glorification is always associated with pride for having achieved something great. When a man thinks he is running the show, he alienates God from his achievement. He dethrones God from whatever has happened and enthrones himself.
Man is important only because God has made him in his image. Without God, man is nothing but animated clay. Seeking one’s glory in whatever one does will eventually result in negative consequences. When we seek to be recognized and honoured for what we have done, we isolate God and we begin to unsurp God’s throne. We forget that God orders all the affairs of man.
Regardless of our material accomplishments, we should always allow grace to help us eliminate any boasting and self glory. All that we have accomplished has been done only because of divine enablement.
Every believers motto should be to always thank and honor God in all that he enables us to accomplish.
