2Ch 7:12 Then the Lord appeared to Solomon at night and said to him: I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a temple of sacrifice.
Solomon had just finished building the temple for the Lord. What ensued was the dedication of this magnificent place of worship for God. After the dedication ceremony, God appeared to Solomon in a vision. God gladly accepted the place…Vs 12b “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a temple of sacrifice.”
Location matters to God. That’s why the acceptance of the temple was more important than any other function held in that place. Activities performed in the temple without it’s acceptance would have been an exercise in futility. God gave an assurance that He would hear prayers offered in that place.
When Jesus met the place (temple) being turned into a market place, He was so furious. He drove away all those who were merchandizing various goods. His Father’s house was and is even now a place of prayers.
Just as Solomon desired for God to accept the temple, we should also desire the same. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit. We are God’s dwelling place. With His acceptance, all other functions will fall into place.
2Co 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
