Amos 9:13 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD, “When the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who sows seed; the mountains shall drip with sweet wine, and all the hills shall flow with it.
Amos gives an exciting picture of what will happen after the Babylonian captivity. God would restore the fortunes that were lost when Israelites went to captivity.
He uses a figurative language to show how fruitful the Israelites will be. “The plow man will overtake the reaper” means that God will make the ground fertile so that the harvest will still be going on even when time comes to plow for the next season . Even the mountains shall drip with sweet wine and all the hills shall flow with it.
It’s true we have gone through a season of hard knocks ! God is ushering in a season of great blessings and restoration. May God cause the “plowman to overtake the harvester” . May you overflow with blessings in such away that there will not be room enough to receive it ( Mal 3:10).
