Jos 12:7,24 Here is a list of the kings of the land that Joshua and the Israelites conquered on the west side of the Jordan, from Baal Gad in the Valley of Lebanon to Mount Halak, which rises toward Seir. Joshua gave their lands as an inheritance to the tribes of Israel according to their tribal divisions.
24. thirty-one kings in all.
When Joshua had grown old, the Lord said to him, “You are now very old, and there are still very large areas of land to be taken over( Jos 13:1). But God did not bombard him with that enoumous task without first highlighting previous success stories of thirty one kings who had been subdued by Joshua. This worked as a springboard of faith and trust in God for the remaining land still not conquered.
Though not possible to keep records of all good and bad that happens ,but that doesn’t rule out their importance in life.
Spiritual records portrays the reliability of our God as Ebenezer for we shall look back and say ,”thus far the Lord has helped us” . Similar to Joshua ,we are also able to trust our God in future battles for they act as a testimony of what God did and still able to do today and in future.
It’s of paramount importance for a christian to look back and see the many battles ,handles,sickness etc that the lord has helped him/her to overcome .It serves as a testimony to the future generation of what God did . ” Each of you is to take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the Israelites, to serve as a sign among you. In the future, when your children ask you, ‘What do these stones mean?’ tell them that the flow of the Jordan was cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, When it crossed . These stones are to be a memorial to the people of Israel forever.”
