Luk 1:46 And Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord,Luk 1:47 and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. Luk 1:48 For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; for behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed.
Mary , a young insignificant woman was more than ready to believe that God was able to do something he had never done before – cause a virgin to conceive apart from normal biological means of conception. Mary humbly submitted herself to every single loss and hardship that she might encounter on the path of obedience. ( Mark Kernan, Olympic Evegelical Free Church)
When Mary heard Elizabeth’s words, she begun to praise God for choosing her, an ordinary village girl to be the mother of the Messiah. No woman had ever been uplifted to such status before and after . She called God her savior because Jesus will save all who will believe in him.
God has always been mindful of the humble state of his servants and He is there to lift them up to a place of honor. Psa 138:6 Though the LORD is on high, Yet He regards the lowly; But the proud He knows from afar. Psa 113:7-9 He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes, with the princes of their people. He settles the barren woman in her home as a happy mother of children.
