Psa 3:1-4 Lord, how they have increased that trouble me! Many are they that rise up against me. Many there which say of my soul, there is no help for him in God. Selah. But thou ,o Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter of mine head. I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard out of his holy hill. Selah.
This was a Psalm of David as he fled from his son Absalom. David was greatly grieved because of his son’s rebellion. He felt as if the entire world was against him. How could he battle against his own son? Humanly speaking this was too much!
Instead of his enemies decreasing , they were multiplying. They were also spreading very damaging rumours; that the Lord was no longer with him. But David did not yield to hopelessness. Instead he cried to the Lord and the Lord heard him from his holy hill! The Lord was his shield and the lifter of his head.
The enemy’s goal is to make us feel as if we are being attacked from all sides and hence we should give up. But the Lord is our shield and the lifter of our heads! As we go through all that has been mobilized against us, we should remain calm and allow him to fight our battles. It does not matter what the devil brings on our way. We will still come out victoriously in Jesus name !
