Jam 4:11 Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.
Slander is evil !.Evil means ,devilish ,diabolical and hellish in nature. Christians should not carry out devil’s work; this is not our business.
Steve Fuller makes fun of it ,he says, “Can you imagine Jesus and John talking negatively about Peter. Maybe John starts off with: “That Peter! He is so impulsive — so brash. Remember, Jesus, when you were talking about going to the cross and he took you aside and scolded you?” Now — can you imagine Jesus answering back — “Really! And he was so sure that he would stay with me to the end–and then he went and denied me three times in the courtyard? Unbelievable!” Can you imagine Jesus talking like that?, No, He can’t.
Too often we do talk like that. James warns against tearing each other based on truth or mere allegations. For this prone us to judgement .Instead, healthy conversation should prevail among brothers. We can opt to engage each other in a spiritually mature healthy way. This includes efforts to correct one’s shortcomings by engaging them in a humble ,loving and careful manner. By so doing,we respect and protect their reputation sustaining a healthy relationship.
