Matt 26:15,
“What will you give me? I myself will hand him over to you”. And they agreed with him for thirty pieces of silver.
Matt 27:3-5 Then Judas, who betrayed him, when he saw that Jesus was condemned, felt remorse and brought the thirty pieces of silver back to the chief priests and elders,“I have sinned by betraying innocent blood”. And they said, “What is that to us? You see to that”.And throwing down the pieces of silver in the temple, he left, went away and hanged himself.
Judas wanted money and he was willing to make a deal to get it. Thinking that the deal was fair ,,thirty pieces of silver hit the account. After realizing that agreement meant Jesus death, he went back to chief priests and elders to renegotiate the “return back terms” only to realize it was “done and dusted” .This led to his suicide
All games with the devil are battles- whether by cunning, subtility or deals. The devil is a master of trickery. It all ends in injury and fatalities. He at times welcome us to his negotiation table making the deal look too good and safe .When agreement documents are signed and exchanged ,it turns bloody confrontational. James 4:7
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
