Jam 5:17: “Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months”.
Jam 5:18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.
Elijah was a Tishbite from Gilead. He was a Benjamite, son of Jeroham ( 1Chro 8:27). He lived during the ninth century BC. Elijah, an ordinary person whose name means ” Yahweh is God” stood out from the crowd and performed extra ordinary things.
Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are. He was capable of suffering the same things or being affected in the same things that affect other ordinary human begins. He was a mere man subject to the same weaknesses and infirmities as other men. Yet he prayed earnestly that it might not rain and it rained not on land. After three and a half years , he prayed again that it may rain, and for sure it rained.
God is at work in day to day lives of ordinary people like you and me. With the heavenly backing, you can pray for the sick and they will surely recover, you can cast out demons, and surely they will leave, preach the gospel, and surely sinners will repent etc “When prayer becomes your habit, miracles become your lifestyle”. ( Anonymous) You have the power to call things that are not as though they were( Rom 4:17).
